Listening and reading the stories of people, you can notice that many of them suffer from the fact that they cannot fully declare their existence to the world, appear to it without fear, discover themselves in their individuality and uniqueness. We are talking here, usually, about the fear of showing up. As a rule, it is associated with a feeling of helplessness, vulnerability and self-doubt. Its appearance is associated with situations where you need to be visible, where evaluation is possible, where there is a possibility of criticism. Different people may be afraid to show up in completely different ways. It is difficult for someone to declare themselves in one specific thing. And for some - in everything at once. And then this will concern everyday life and everyday issues, work and profession, social events and public speaking, personal life and communication with others. How does a person feel about this? Uncertain; Anxious; Sometimes even panic arises at the thought that he may be ridiculed, judged, or assessed negatively. Where does this fear come from? For some people, it is based on the fear of being rejected and unaccepted by others. Someone is afraid of looking like a failure or imperfect in the eyes of others if something, from his point of view, goes wrong. For many, this fear is also associated with low self-esteem and self-doubt. Often, people with childhood traumatic experiences, in particular, with a parent who abuses alcohol, also have a fear of manifesting themselves. What can help? Try to accept yourself as you are, remembering that there are no ideal people and everyone tends to make mistakes. At the same time, accepting one’s shortcomings does not exclude the desire for self-improvement, if there is such a need. However, it is important not to judge yourself harshly and give yourself the right to be not an ordinary person, and not a standard. Work on increasing your self-esteem. Confidence in yourself and your strengths certainly gives you support and allows you to feel calm in situations where you need to express yourself and express yourself. Practice the ability to express your thoughts, feelings, and desires. Paradoxically, openness and sincerity in communicating with others can reduce the manifestations of fear of manifestation. Closedness only increases isolation from others and, accordingly, the fear of appearing to them, and small but regular steps towards others allow you to quietly open up safely. Study relaxation and stress management techniques. Regular meditation, yoga, or deep breathing can help cope with the anxiety and tension that accompany fear of manifestation. Seek help from a psychologist if fear of manifestation is preventing you from living a full life. A specialist will help you understand your emotions, find sources of fear and learn to cope with it.
