How to get rid of stress and anxiety quickly and easily? Psychological techniques based on the EMDR method (EMDR) are a great help with this. I talked about one of them here. Today I suggest you try an exercise called “Snowflake through the eyes.” Image created using AI Midjourney This exercise can be used before bed in order to calm down and disconnect from disturbing thoughts. It also helps with stress, anxiety and emotional burnout. It is simple to do: as if you were drawing a snowflake with your eye movement. For convenience, you can outline in advance the points that you will look at during the exercise. The maximum amplitude is recommended. But if your eyes feel uncomfortable and it hurts, reduce it. Choose the speed that is convenient for you so that you feel comfortable enough. Contraindications include epilepsy, the first few weeks after head injuries, strokes and schizophrenia. How to get rid of stress and burnout in 4 steps First step: move your eyes up and down, back and forth about 10 movements. Second step: move your eyes from right to left and in the opposite direction, also about 10 times. Third step: move your eyes diagonally, in both directions. First, 10 movements up to the right, down to the left and back. Then the fourth step: move your eyes up to the left and down to the right, and back, also 10 movements each. It is recommended to do three such approaches in moving your eyes. Make sure that only your eyes move, and your head and whole body remain motionless. It is recommended to do the exercise while sitting for the first time, and then, if it is convenient, you can try to do it lying down. You can do it up to three times a day, every day. Focus on your well-being. This exercise in itself will not get rid of psychological trauma and other serious problems - you still need the help of a psychologist for this, but it will alleviate the condition. We are all different and the exercise is helpful and suitable for most people. But if you understand that it does not bring you relief, then it is recommended to look for another method to relieve stress and get rid of burnout. And do not hesitate to ask a psychologist for help! I wish you comfort and tranquility! With care and care for you, psychologist Irina Zhueva.
