“When creative energy finds satisfaction, it becomes a reliable support, giving strength in difficult moments, it brings us health.” (Hill, 1945). Art therapy has its origins in art and psychology, literally it denotes the use of art for therapeutic purposes. One client once asked me that only creativity can help solve our various problems. No, not only, in psychology there are a lot of methods, a lot of different techniques and techniques. But, however, it is quite difficult for many people to find words to describe their feelings, fears, experiences. And then their works, just like those done using art therapy methods, become a symbolic language for their inner feelings and help them build a bridge between the inner world and external reality. In art therapy, it is not important to be able to draw, or make collages, or sculpt sculptures . Only one thing is important here - your sincerity and desire to pour out everything that lives inside you. And shape, color, material - all this will help you translate from the language of symbols into a language understandable for awareness of everything that you have put into your work. The most interesting thing about this method is that each of our clients acts as a “witness” of the creative process , and as a “direct participant” in this process. Because art has the ability to revive the experience of the past through dialogue unfolding at the present moment in time. Also, creativity becomes a meeting place or bridge between the psychologist and the client. The client creates, discovers something new in himself, raises more and more layers from within to the surface, realizes and accepts. And the psychologist, peering into this internal dialogue, creates a safe space and sometimes indicates the direction of movement of this internal dialogue of the client. In creativity, a meeting always occurs. In the process of creativity, each of us dissolves in what he depicts, becomes part of his work, and at the same time time, we go beyond the boundaries of our work and try to examine it from all sides. And it is this process that makes it possible to feel like you are part of something and at the same time being outside. Thus, fine art appears in the form of a dialogue: either between the creator and his self, or between the creator and another person. D. Rose noted that art does not convey this or that meaning, it generates it in the mind of a receptive person. What is most interesting is that by sculpting and drawing, we achieve a certain balance within ourselves. Our consciousness at the moment of creativity influences the state of our body and vice versa, which gives the effect of streamlining consciousness or healing the body, and this in itself is already important. Creativity acts not only as a tool for self-healing, but also as an important factor in achieving harmony and balance. http://raduga-art.blogspot.com/Other articles on this topic that may be of interest to you: - What can a drawing say? , - Art therapy. - Symbolism of the drawing.
