Unfulfilled hopes we have regarding other people most often lead to quarrels, and maybe even divorce. However, we very rarely express expectations and, as a rule, keep them inside ourselves. As a result, we experience enormous dissatisfaction, a feeling of powerlessness, anger, resentment, turning into hatred. And now we have already forgotten that we have no right to expect something if there were no clear agreements from the beginning. Here is an example from my personal environment. A week before her birthday, a woman said to her husband: “You know, honey, next week will be my birthday. I want to remind you that I really love gold jewelry.” To which he smiled without saying a word. The wife loved to talk with her husband when he was busy with something. A week later, my husband forgot about his birthday. What happened next was predictable. Anger, emotions, a promise of revenge, and this became one of the reasons for the divorce. I assure you that the man never promised to remember his birthday and give him jewelry. Has no one ever taught us to make clear and precise requests? It is very difficult for a person suffering from a lack of self-love to express his true needs. Without realizing how great the trauma in our lives is, we acutely feel the hurt caused in different situations and with different people. Let's ask ourselves the question: "What were our expectations?" And we will very quickly understand that we did not specifically agree with anyone on this matter. And one more important point: a person cannot undertake that he will be someone or something; one can only agree on what he will do. Make an agreement, gentlemen! If we realize that we often have empty expectations from other people, and there was no prior agreement. This suggests that we do the same to ourselves. How can another person demonstrate love for us if we do not know the law of unconditional self-love? Our environment is our attitude towards ourselves. There is no need to judge yourself or feel guilty. Treat yourself with care, do not demand the impossible from yourself, be responsible only for your actions, because only we are the creators of all the events that happen to us.
