A method of printing drawings with water paints. The technique is very similar to gravure printing. Mainly done in watercolor or gouache. Both the aquatype technique and its name were introduced into use by the famous Soviet engraver I. Pavlov. Aquatype is a delicate work that requires co-creation. Matisse said: “The ability to see is already a creative process.” And aquatypia is an improvisation on the theme of a free spot. The author defines an image, selects it from many options and presents it to the viewer. To improvise, you need a lot of knowledge and skills; you need to be able to see where you can get images, plots, and visions from. This is the ability to find the beauty of form in the play of paint. Aquatypia sounds difficult, but in fact it is a fascinating activity even for those who do not know how to draw. Suitable for everyone: from children 3 years old to the elderly.1. We apply a design to a piece of glass or plastic using watercolors or gouache. You can apply a design over the applied paint with your fingers or the handle of a brush.2. Press the glass with the pattern onto the paper. The result is a print that is not similar to the drawing on the glass.3. You can pull or rotate the pressed glass, then the pattern will blur, creating the effect of movement or wind.4. You can make an imprint on wet paper, you will get a different effect. A drawing created in this way can be independent, but it can also serve as a background for more complex work. Try it - and you won’t be able to stop. EVERYONE can do it! This technique develops imagination and imagination, allows you to relax and give free rein to your thoughts and feelings. We invite everyone to participate!
