From the author: This article is an attempt to build a scientific psychological discipline based on the study of patterns in how a client solves a psychological problem. Published in the newspaper "Golden Staircase". GENERATIVE PSYCHOLOGYPsychotherapy and psychological counseling are professional activities of managing appropriate changes in the client (patient). The success of managing the client’s expedient changes directly depends on the specialist’s complete understanding of the nature of these changes. We can say that the implementation of these (therapeutically appropriate) changes is the goal of the work of a psychotherapist and consultant. But what do we know about the nature of those changes that are the goal of the work of a psychotherapist and consultant? What needs to happen and what needs to happen for the client to solve their problem? The phenomena of catharsis, insight, increasing integrity, restoring the client’s subjectivity as a result of therapeutic work, changing attitudes towards the situation, etc. also add little to the understanding of the client’s real processes of change. These and other categories most likely designate real processes of change rather than describe and explain them. We discovered that in the process of a client solving his problem, the “expansion of the map” inevitably occurs, its enrichment and specific understanding of his own problem situation at a higher logical level. In other words, the problem is solved due to the emergence in the client of a new systemic vision of the circumstances of the problem situation and the emergence of stable psychological supports due to this. This process of restructuring and enriching the client's map is a process of generativity. This is what happens in all successful cases of psychological assistance. Any psychological problem is resolved in this way. This is the idea of ​​generativity. The term “generativity” itself means “to generate something new” - to generate. In relation to human psychology, generativity reveals itself in his ability to make fundamentally new decisions, to find new connections and relationships between elements of problem situations, and to creatively perceive these situations. People with generative thinking and perception are capable of enriching their own ideas regarding the difficulties they encounter. And this allows them to be flexible and creative. By now, the subject of generative psychology has emerged quite clearly as a new and extremely important independent discipline. It seems to me that the subject of generative psychology is the patterns, conditions and methods of a person transforming his problematic experience into a resource one. In other words, we are interested, first of all, in how a person copes with his own fixations. There is only one constructive way to deal with your own fixations - this is to use the fixation as a basis for setting a creative task. Transforming a psychological problem into a creative task is the subject of generative psychology. Changes that expand and enrich the personality map and are characterized by a higher level of human orientation in previously problematic situations I call generative changes. I highlight the following features of generative changes during the therapeutic process: - The emergence of a new meaning of the problem due to its systemic vision (stable value guidelines and semantic supports) - a new vision, new goals and prospects; - The emergence of meta-structures in the structure of the client’s experience (skills of systemic orientation in such problem situations, skills of self-reflection and self-organization) - tolerance, psychological resistance to negative factors, adaptability; - Increasing cognitive complexity and reaching a higher level of personal maturity (transcendence from previously autonomous , but contradictory and even conflicting subpersonalities).
