Everyone knows Aristotle as a scientist and philosopher. But not everyone knows that he was one of the world's first famous coaches. True, he had only one famous client - a boy named Sasha. More precisely, Alexander, nicknamed the Macedonian. Why a coach, and not just a teacher? At first, Aristotle was undoubtedly the boy’s teacher. Because it was necessary to convey a lot of important knowledge to Alexander. But then Alexander grew up, gained strength, became a king, commander, and conqueror. And in his hands was enormous, at that time, power - and absolute. Is it possible in such a situation to simply teach a hot-tempered and very ambitious king? No, of course - people with absolute power do not recognize anyone above them, the paradigm is not the same. Therefore, Aristotle it was necessary to change the format - from a teacher to a deeper position, to a coach. What are the differences? The thing is that a coach does not teach - he helps a person open up HIMSELF. And he does this with the help of very subtle questions that can lead a person to finding the right solution. It looks like magic: he didn’t suggest anything - and suddenly the answer seemed to appear by itself. Moreover, not just an answer - but an unexpected, bright answer that opens up completely new perspectives. And people who have experienced this experience real insights. Aristotle, being an intelligent person, worked with the hot-tempered Alexander. He did not impose his point of view on him, did not push him to answers - with precise questions he helped the king himself see a new clear answer. The work of a coach subtler than the work of a teacher - after all, he cannot use straightforward pushing of a person to the desired answer. His task is to help a person discover in HIMSELF what he does not see. And do this as environmentally friendly as possible. So, those for whom the word “coach” evokes artificially created antipathy - do not forget about the history of Aristotle and Alexander the Great. By the way, Alexander dreamed of conquering the whole world, the entire Ecumene. But having stopped communicating with Aristotle, he only won half. I wonder why this happened? And is there any connection here??
