Good afternoon.⠀In the previous article, I wrote about the importance of feeling worthy of the best. Today I will write about this thought in more detail.⠀We can give omnipotence to our thinking. We are told from all sides: think positively and everything will be wonderful for you. And we, even if we don’t realize it, perceive positive thinking as capable of working miracles, as magical.⠀And so you try to think positively, but in reality nothing changes.⠀Then you understand that thoughts and adequate self-esteem are not enough. Actions, goals, and a plan are needed. You understand what you want and start doing a little bit at a time.⠀Over time, you have done a lot of things, but as a result, what you fantasized about when you set out on the path to achieve your goal may not happen.⠀And of course, no one told you about it that life is unpredictable, that events on a global scale can happen (like now) and turn your plans upside down.⠀And this is about the influence of real reality on the realization of your plans and dreams. Can this influence be prevented by thinking positively? Of course not. Thoughts are not omnipotent.⠀ Therefore, our task is not to deceive ourselves.⠀ It is important to feel worthy of the best and consider the real reality, as well as your life experiences and childhood events that had a strong impact on you.⠀ The very feeling of being worthy of the best will help you withstand failures and not despair. Learn to think about your success and specific actions, taking into account the factor of uncertainty. Making mistakes is an experience we can lean on.⠀Of course, if we don’t get what we want, we can feel confused, angry and resentful.⠀Resentment is the same inward-directed aggression as guilt.⠀When I created course “Freedom from Resentment and Guilt”, I paid special attention to explaining what resentment is and why it arises. And she spoke in detail about the toxic feeling of guilt. And also about what forgiveness really is.⠀When something doesn’t work out for us for a long time or we don’t understand why our lives are one way and not another, the feeling of resentment and, as a result, guilt intensifies. Resentment may arise at parents, men, oneself, as well as resentment towards life in general. In the course, I give exercises on all these aspects.⠀Resentment and guilt do not contribute to improving your well-being and progress towards your goals. They steal your vital resources. Therefore, I sincerely recommend the course “Freedom from Resentment and Guilt. True forgiveness."⠀True forgiveness is admitting the guilt of the offender, allowing yourself to be angry with him. As well as “processing” the feelings that arose from his action. And accepting the reality that a person will not change because you have forgiven him. That is, you dealt with the pain that he caused you. I talk about this in detail in the course.⠀The problem is that often loved ones who are offended turn away from your feelings. They may not admit how much they hurt you. That’s why it’s so important to work with a psychologist, where you can express all the anger, rage and pain, and at the same time feel understanding and acceptance of you, with all your feelings. Which, of course, reduces their intensity. And gives freedom.⠀Allow yourself to stop being a hostage to resentment and guilt.⠀The course “Freedom from resentment and guilt” is here: https://www.b17.ru/courses/1717/Sincerely, Irina Potemkina Analytical psychologist and EFT practitioner
