From the author: Published for the first time It happens that even important things we can put off, as they say, “until the last”, we just can’t start doing something, although it’s great We know that we will have to do this. Then you have to force yourself, “give yourself a kick for a breakthrough” and “from a low start” to run and do an important thing to the limit of your capabilities, something that could have been done calmly and long ago. An additional bonus to the fact that I am “my own director” and “no one dictates to me” is an internal drive: “but it’s hard for you to do it even faster and still come out a winner” (a winner over or in front of someone, we’ll talk a little later) . In principle, the task may be completely simple, but for some reason a person cannot bring himself to take up it and do it, and he pulls and pulls, but inside something is gnawing and gnawing. Why is this happening? In my opinion, it’s all about motivation, of course, I won’t discover America by saying this, but still there is a difference whether our motivation is external or internal. External motivation is when someone needs it (of course, this is all conditional), but not for me. And the internal one is when I need it, because I really WANT it myself. External motivation is characterized by the following words: must, must, force and overpower oneself and other equally “unpleasant” words. External control dominates us, such as punishment. For example: - a reprimand for being late, if we just can’t leave the house on time, although we know perfectly well (we are already adults and are able to calculate) how much time it takes to get to the place where we absolutely need to be; - a fine for the fact that I failed to submit an important report on time; - a failed exam because I didn’t want to sit down and study; - an extracted tooth - I just can’t find the time to go to the dentist; - not receiving money that I could have easily earned , if you developed systematically (learned English, got a license, “pumped up your muscle” in your profession); - but you can still be late for trains and planes - everyone knows the consequences... Many “funny” examples can be given and everyone may have their own, but There is only one “reckoning” - lost opportunities, anger at oneself (and others) and other “side effects” of such a “drive” (“translation into Russian”, see above). The characteristic word for internal motivation is: I want, I like. I feel an internal need to act in one way or another because I WANT IT - these are the words of an adult. For example: - I like to come to work early, because while no one is there, I can do a lot of useful things for myself, and I will do them much faster, because no one will distract me; - I like to submit reports to the tax office, a little earlier than others, because I don’t have to crowd in line, and I can use the freed up time to go to the pool; - I like to pass exams the first time and preferably “in the front row,” because then I’m free (free) for half a day and I can walk around the city, go to an exhibition, to the cinema, sit in the park with a friend, etc. - but there are few wonderful things around; - I am happy to do a preventive examination at the dentist (or any other doctor), because it makes me feel good, when they tell me that everything is fine with me, or offer to do something minor to improve my health and I am pleased that it is not an operation or something like that; - I plan my professional activities, because the time and effort freed up from effective organization will give me the opportunity to learn a new method and allow me to move higher up the career ladder, which, accordingly, will bring me more money and opportunities, and the money earned (and time saved ) I can happily spend time communicating with my favorite people, somewhere on the south coast (substitute any place) and, of course, I’ll arrive at the airport or train station/7040/
