A lot of vague and scattered information. Now we need to learn to live in a high-stress situation. What does it mean? That we are now forced to face situations beyond the normal everyday situations. Have any of you encountered a pandemic situation before? Obviously not. Have any of you previously experienced the closure of international borders on such a scale? Apparently not. One involuntarily recalls the story of martial law, and in light of this, the purchase of provisions by the majority of the population seems quite understandable. I am not a doctor, not a sociologist, I am a psychologist, and as a specialist in this profession, I want to identify the processes that I see and in which I myself participate. It seems to me that clarity and understanding of these processes can also be a support. So, point by point: 1. We now (I mean society) look like an express train that had to be braked urgently because someone pulled the stop valve. We're still coasting forward, but overall we're shocked by the need to brake. What does it mean? I mean, the pace we've all been moving at lately. Work, family, clubs, sections, hobbies, cafes, bars, restaurants, sports club, I probably forgot something, it was very, very fast. A short respite on the weekend and again in a circle, before the vacation, which you rush to get ready for at the last moment. Snatch something while traveling and go back into battle. All these processes do not allow one to feel in a “beautiful” way. Feel yourself. Understand the lack of strength, desires, sadness, melancholy, sadness and even joy sometimes. That's why it's so hard to stop. You immediately feel pain from the presence of yourself. It turns out that I exist, and when I’m not running, I feel it clearly, and I don’t want to meet myself in a crisis situation at all. I immediately remember an old joke: “Doctor, I can’t find myself.” -So here you are! -Oh, thank you, doctor! This meeting forces us to admit that, in addition to everyday issues, there is an important existential life message associated with the meaning of being. And then it turns out that you want to live. And I want to understand why, and I want a lot more. I want to do something in time, and perhaps quarantine and train delays can even provide such an opportunity. Therefore, stop and think about what is important to you. Maybe spending time with your family is what you wanted? What other opportunities does the slowdown bring for you? Maybe you've been wanting something for a long time, watch theatrical performances, visit museums around the world online, learn to draw, learn a language, do yoga. All these processes bring some important meaning to your life, in which BEFORE this moment there was no time for important things. The epidemic gives us time, it’s good to spend it not in line for buckwheat, right?) Meaning is the answer to the crisis, meaning enriches life, gives strength and energy. This is what we need now and I will tell you why later.2. The amount of negative, toxic information exceeds all reasonable limits. In fact, we are all now in information stress, which causes many strong, intense experiences AT THE SAME TIME. And this is a very heavy burden for the psyche. I will name only the main ones: - uncertainty - hopelessness - powerlessness - grief (because we are losing a lot now). In general, the whole complex of experiences can be called a very strong frustration, from which you want to escape, jump out of it, or find ways to turn off all this mental chaos and internal torment. These are complex experiences, primarily because modern people are unusual in experiencing them. In ordinary life, we tend to avoid them, convinced that we can control almost everything. The development of science and medical technology has given us such an illusion. We think that we can control life and more often encounter situations of powerlessness at a psychotherapist’s appointment as something exotic.3.
