Fear, like any other emotion, performs a very useful function: it warns of impending danger. Fear is an anticipatory emotion, i.e. it arises even before that very danger has happened, well, this is understandable, otherwise why would it be needed. A person’s fears are formed from childhood, and there are those that were formed even before birth; it was precisely such fears that once allowed the entire family to survive. And everything seems to be good and useful, but sometimes it happens that fear begins to seriously complicate life. This happens when objectively nothing threatens life at the moment, but fear arises. Like any feeling, fear is associated with the body, namely, at the moment of experiencing fear, one can observe that the person’s body tenses, the person seems to shrink, breathing becomes shallow, and may even “hidden”, dizziness may occur, etc. ., it is bodily manifestations that cause special discomfort. Why does fear arise that should not arise? As a rule, this happens because: - psychological trauma; may not relate to the subject of fear - once upon a time it was precisely this behavior, the reaction of the body that helped maintain contact; (example: in order to please the mother, the child always keeps his back straight; as an adult, muscle stiffness is associated with panic attacks) - once upon a time, it was precisely this behavior and body reaction that helped protect against aggression; (a child must behave quietly and inconspicuously, otherwise he will be beaten; as an adult, a person does not enter into conflicts, preferring even to “not breathe” when someone raises his tone) - “horror stories”, useful tips in childhood; - not the possibility of recognition and rejection of “unpleasant” feelings can be expressed in the form of fear; (the inability to recognize pity for an object provokes fear towards this object) And this is just a small part of what fear can mask... It happens that fear is a whole container of experienced traumas and in order for these traumas to appear, be remembered, experienced a lot of time. In any case, if fear does not allow you to live comfortably, prevents you from enjoying life, there are various ways to cope with it.
