From the author: In any community, the possible monetization of likes is different, and each user uses them in their own way. They say, as many people as there are, so many opinions. For a person writing, the reaction of the audience to his works/posts/articles, etc. is important. Often, a reader can thank the author simply by liking it, usually by clicking on the heart at the end of the post. On b17, this function is performed by the thumb located on the right under the article. Of course, you can write a detailed comment, but not everyone has the time or desire to do this. And a simple “thank you for the article” may well be replaced by a universal sign of attention and support - a “heart”. In general, one can distinguish a teenage and adult attitude towards content, responsible and frivolous, polite and shameless. An adult, responsible and polite position, in my opinion, is this. If the material is liked, catchy, interesting, the reader responds - likes it or writes a comment. If the material is uninteresting, poorly written, etc. - just passing by. Such a reader will not publicly point out to the author his mistakes and shortcomings. He can correctly express his disagreement and that’s all. In exceptional cases, he will write to the author in personal correspondence. The number of likes under a post is an indicator of how interesting and relevant the material is for the majority. Methods of increasing likes and views are widespread on the Internet; this is done to attract as large an audience as possible to certain resources. On many network resources, likes play an important role, allowing not only to raise the status and self-esteem of the author. This is often a way to monetize, such as on b17. Articles with the most likes for the current month are included in the list of the best, accordingly, the authors are read more, more often seek professional help, etc. And it turns out that the more, the better. With the spread of the Internet to all corners of the globe, it seems that almost every lucky owner of a smartphone should know about likes. In any community, the possible monetization of likes is different, and each user uses them in their own way. Someone is conducting an invisible exchange: you for me, I for you. Others don’t bet on anyone at all. It is very interesting to consider these strategies from a psychological point of view. What behavior options can be noted: Honest, open reaction to the material you like with meaningful comments. Mutually beneficial promotion with the same type and lack of content. Direct indication at the end/beginning of the post (like, don’t forget to put). Writing laudatory comments and lack of likes. The last point occurs quite often, but the motives for this behavior are unclear. The person praises the articles, but does not like them at all. Maybe he doesn’t know what they are or doesn’t attach importance to them? Or is this a principled position? Dear colleagues and dear readers, I am asking you for help. What do you think this phenomenon is? What is it based on? Do you attach importance to likes? And how “beautiful” and “correct” it is to openly invite readers to like after reading the material at the conclusion of articles. It seems to me, on the one hand, this is an honest and open request, on the other, every person is free to decide for himself whether to thank the author or not, and no instructions are needed for this.
