It is normal for the psyche to put off something that takes a lot of energy from it or to do it quickly and poorly. But our anxiety about the upcoming report will not go away from realizing this. Here it is important to listen to yourself and understand the reasons for your lack of desire to do some important task. It could just be fatigue, or it could be a symptom of depression. 1. Accurately diagnose your feelings. Many feelings are disguised as laziness and procrastination, find them. Perhaps you are tired, overloaded with things to do during the day, or comparing yourself to someone else. Look for the reason and try to find a way to calm the emotion. Don't force yourself to do something, but follow the lead of this emotion. For example, if you are overloaded, try to reduce your tasks today and relax. The quality of completed tasks during overload still leaves much to be desired.2. Don't "eat the frog" Eating a frog is said about the thing you don't like the most. It is believed that you need to do it very first and motivation will appear. This will definitely not make you want to get out of bed. Instead, ask yourself, “What is the most productive task I can do right now?” For example, if you have planned to go for a run, just go for a walk if you can do it today. You will be satisfied. A little action is better than nothing. Lower your expectations and do things half-heartedly, briefly, or make things easier. 3. Do a few quick tasks that are fun. Sometimes we need to "warm up" in order to enjoy an activity. But it’s better to do such tasks no more than 30 minutes, so as not to be too tired for the main work. For example, check the mail or hang things on the dryer. A simple and quick task will help you get ready for work. 4. Reward yourself After a productive task, take a break. But plan it in advance so that later you don’t fall into a feeling of guilt because you were scrolling through your feed on social networks instead of doing something pleasant. This is not about “I worked for 8 hours, I’ll go run another 10 kilometers.” You can make yourself some coffee, read a book, and even surf social networks if that’s what you want! This is your rightful vacation, so plan to enjoy it. 5. Be attentive to yourself Low motivation can be one of the symptoms of high anxiety, depression or a symptom of somatic illness. Listen to yourself. If you constantly lack strength, lack pleasure from any activities and you just want to lie down, this is a reason to consult a doctor.
