It often happens that strong emotions take over. Then you regress into a childish state and give out childish reactions (crying, screaming out of control, feeling sorry for yourself, etc.). At a moment when you are in great pain or vulnerability, anger comes over you, it is important to do the following: 1) track your thoughts (for example, no one needs me, I am not needed when there is a surge of loneliness, it would be better if I didn’t exist, etc.) 2) track your feelings (that happens to you - resentment, anger, horror, despair, etc.). If you don’t know how to distinguish between your feelings, look at the list of feelings, listen to yourself. 3) track your sensations in the body (when loneliness strikes, what happens to the body - a lump in the throat, trembling in the stomach, etc.). What does a person usually do in such moments? Resists, tries to run away from these feelings and does not live through them. Someone lights a cigarette, someone drinks, turns on the TV or other means of escape. Stop. It’s been a long time since you experienced similar emotions, now you’re an adult, you can handle it. And you allow everything to be. Do you pay close attention to what you want to do? Scream, cry, hit, destroy. And in your IMAGINATION you do it. Our psyche is still imagining it or actually doing it! Task: to defuse emotions and take a resource from them. How? So you imagined that you shouted, stomped, even yelled, destroyed everything, WHAT NEW feeling appeared? Calm, warmth, relaxation, etc. You imagine it with some color (the unconscious understands images, color) and spread it throughout the body. In therapy, we go deeper: we look for the original source where these emotions were not experienced for the first time and work with the trauma. Using the described option on your own helps a lot in not giving off an automatic reaction, but in regaining the ability to manage your condition. Yes, this method requires awareness. Workout. The ability to listen to yourself and your body. But it's not difficult! And it’s worth it! If it’s difficult on your own, contact a specialist. This is the best option. Important! This appointment is suitable for people without psychiatric diagnoses! I'm always happy to help you! Sign up for consultations:)
