From the author: Epigraph: “Half of the people go to hell because they say “Yes” to it, others because they couldn’t say “No.” A.E. Alekseychik How to feel about suicide? Epigraph: “Half the people go to hell because they say “Yes” to him, others - because they could not say “No.” A.E. Alekseychik Suicide or suicide. Killing yourself. What is it like to be a killer? Parasuicide or attempted self-murder. Murder and attempted murder are criminal offenses. What about the suicide attempt? What responsibility should a person who tried to kill himself bear, and who will hold him accountable? Often others are responsible for him, and he is presented as a victim. The bulk of parasuicides are demonstrative, blackmailing in nature, and a person, having achieved a solution to some of his problems once in his life by such an act, is ready to repeat it again at the first difficulties of life, but sometimes, having become carried away, he, from the image of suicide, commits actual suicide. One of the options for reducing the number of demonstrative suicides would be for society to refuse to play the games imposed on it. Suicide must be unprofitable! Previously, the tough position of the church in refusing to bury suicides in the cemetery, as people who destroy not only the body, but also the soul, made it possible to restrain these phenomena. There was a persistent negative attitude towards suicide in public morality and, if there were cases of suicide of any kind, then girls from this clan were not married, since the clan was considered degenerate. The problem of suicide is multifaceted and mainly of a social nature. Only a small part of suicides are committed by people with mental disorders, with a sick soul, who do not know what they are doing. The majority of suicides and parasuicides are mentally healthy people. Are they healthy? Can mental infantilism or immaturity, laziness of the soul, selfishness, irresponsibility, lack of education be considered health, and is there a cure for this? In situations where a person finds himself alone with his burden of difficulties and adversity, especially in adolescents with a vulnerable psyche, and no necessary life experience to adequately respond to what is happening, society’s tough position on suicide is often indifferent to a potential suicide. It’s good if you have a close person nearby with whom you can talk about anything, and this person will not judge, no matter what happens, but will understand and will help to the best of his ability. After all, often all you need is a kind word spoken at a fateful moment, and a rash act will not come to fruition. In cases where it is not possible to contact a loved one, and sometimes even after a conversation with him, they turn to psychologists, psychotherapists, and psychiatrists. Previously, when society was more religious, each person received spiritual instructions when performing religious rites. I could speak out and get advice. At the current stage of development of society, we need to restore what was previously created by the church, a negative attitude towards suicide and measures of social impact. And also the opportunity to sometimes anonymously receive consultation, advice, spiritual guidance, and just talk it out. And if, due to the development of a network of psychological services, it is possible to seek advice from a psychologist in person or via a “helpline”, then there is no negative attitude of society towards suicide, it is rather from indifferent to slightly compassionate. In cases of a psychological crisis from which no person is immune (an acute emotional state of confusion and anxiety), those around them need to pay attention to the symptoms of suicidal behavior. This could be conversations about death and suicide, a desire to fantasize about this topic out loud, a desire for loneliness, reasoning on the topic: “Nobody needs me,” “No one will miss me anyway.” This includes excessive attention to the motives of death in music, art or literature, veiled attempts to “say goodbye”
