The recommendations for increasing motivation described in this article can be applied to any area of life. For example, I will take sports. But before we begin with recommendations for increasing motivation, I want to draw your attention, dear reader, to one important point. Before motivating yourself to play sports or any other activity, it is important to bring your body back to normal. Namely, enough sleep and normal nutrition. In general, you should not be overtired or chronically sleep deprived. Otherwise, the same exercise from the last reserves of the body can lead to negative results or lead to nothing. That is, if you want to perform some kind of activity, you must have the strength to do it and you must take care of it yourself. People have a common problem - a person sits on the Internet until midnight, then in the morning, sleep-deprived, he goes to work, then back to work. on the Internet and where can you motivate yourself to do sports when you are exhausted?! It is important to be able to plan and manage your time correctly, so-called time management skills are important. In general, we figured it out. There will be new articles and videos on planning time, goals, and other things. You can already find useful information in my articles: “Planning a goal and searching for opportunities”, “Algorithm for achieving a goal. Advice from a psychologist. Part 1”, “Algorithm for achieving a goal. Part 2. Motivation”. And I’ll start with recommendations for increasing motivation. In fact, there are many different exercises in psychology, and it is important to use them regularly. The effect of them is enhanced if you periodically focus on the positive effect of the activity, and not on how hard it is and how much you don’t want it. To do this, take a notepad and pen, and write the maximum amount of all the good things that will happen in your life , if you play sports (or any other activity). The phrase “this is already clear” or “all this can be fit in one sentence” will not fit here. No, if you want to set yourself up and motivate yourself, then write down all the little things and “non-trifles”, material and emotional, everything, everything, everything and more. As long as you tell yourself “this is already clear,” your brain perceives positive results from sports as some abstract information. And as I wrote earlier in other articles, abstract is something non-specific, blurry, and it will remain abstract in the future. The brain performs only understandable actions, which means it needs to be as specific as possible. For many people, this approach causes difficulties, and I have often seen how a client simply finds it difficult to write at least something positive. I remember one seemingly simple exercise for parents who come to consultation about problems with your children. During the consultation, you suggest writing down 10 positive qualities of your child. And at this moment the parents become stupefied. They cannot do this; sometimes they completely lack information in their heads that their child has any positive qualities. If they write two or three, then that’s good. But they can talk for hours about how bad the child is and how he ruins their life. This is reality. Is it any wonder that problems with children arise in such families?! If we transfer this analogy to our motivation and “not playing” sports. Isn't it a similar situation? Many people in our country are accustomed to thinking in terms of negativity and avoiding problems. And sometimes it can be difficult to reconfigure your consciousness to the positive, but this is a matter of training the mind. If it doesn’t work out right away, then keep this list with you and constantly look for something positive and useful that your training in the gym will give you. And when you write 10 points, please do not limit yourself to them. This exercise is aimed, as you understand, not only at clarification and specification, but also at restructuring consciousness. If some activity promises you a lot of good (for you, and not for show or society), then you will end up skipping through it.
