Love is one of the central concepts of literature, music, painting, and cinema. And this is no coincidence, because it is one of the central ones in our lives. Love motivates, love gives meaning to life. It is not surprising that we all, in one way or another, strive to love and be loved. As planned, the first half of our life is devoted to absorbing love. Unconditional love must be absorbed with mother's milk. Such maternal love should become a strong support in adult life, form adequate self-esteem, and protect against life’s difficulties. Moreover, the less unconditional love we received in childhood, the more difficult it is for us to experience it as an adult. The desire to receive love from the outside, from other people, arises in direct proportion to the strength. It seems to us that our joy and happiness depend on the attention of others. We fall into real dependence in relation to the object of love, in fact, simply trying to escape from our own inner emptiness. On this basis, all kinds of dependent and codependent relationships arise. The way out of the situation lies in the direction of still learning to love on your own, accumulating love within yourself. Love is, first of all, doing. If you don't have a partner, try to cultivate love towards others. Spend more time with your children, parents, and other loved ones. And yet, don’t forget to start taking care of yourself. To learn to love and build constructive, healthy relationships, it is very important to also learn to love yourself. And the path to such love lies through taking care of your true needs, satisfying the desires hidden within yourself. The truth is that love relationships are not capable of bringing into our lives what is not in us at all. They only reveal what is already there, allowing the reserve of love we have in us to come out. Therefore, an approach in which a person endlessly changes partners without trying to change himself is quite futile..
