From the author: One of the clients’ calls still inspired me to write about practical psychology and solving problems with its help. The article answers the question of what you need to know about psychological counseling in order for it to give the desired or excellent result. And yet, in everyone’s life there are situations in which a person needs psychological help. What solutions are there? Of course, you can contact a psychologist, to religion, extrasensory perception, or, finally, an intimate conversation in the kitchen. All this can and does help, despite the suspicious attitude of representatives of all these movements towards each other and sincere belief in the correctness of only their own approach. There is no desire to find out the correctness and truth of the approaches, about There is plenty of information on this on the Internet. The result is important to me, namely a happy person who has solved a problem that seemed dead-end to him. So, I’ll tell you about solving problems with the help of a consulting psychologist. How to choose a specialist? The right choice of a specialist is the key to success. Education of a psychologist I am not specifically writing a diploma as a psychologist, but rather an education. Diplomas are often bought by persons conducting “near-psychological” consultations to give official status to what they do in consultation. Do not be embarrassed to ask the psychologist for documents confirming his professional status. A psychologist must have a diploma, there is nothing to add here. Advanced training A good psychologist regularly improves his qualifications, or at least has a certain amount of training and advanced training courses completed. Membership in professional communities He may be a member of professional psychological communities, for which he will have a certificate. But this is not at all necessary, because Such associations do not have a direct impact on professionalism. They hold congresses, seminars, and trainings, which are also available for the same money in various centers. Supervision Next, a very important point is supervision. What kind of word is this?? It’s simple, every psychologist conducting an appointment should from time to time consult with his own psychologist, who is more experienced from a practical point of view. This is called supervision, and a more experienced psychologist consulting a psychologist is called a supervisor. Such a system is designed to reduce errors and the transfer of the psychologist’s problems to the client (the so-called transfer) in counseling to a minimum. Of course, the client cannot check in any way whether a particular psychologist has a supervisor, and whether he consults periodically, but for a general understanding, it is better to know. As they say, forewarned is forearmed. Recommendations The next important point is the presence of recommendations from people who have already successfully sought help from this specialist. Contacts of good specialists would be passed from hand to hand if people were not embarrassed to admit that they turned to a psychologist for help.. Our mentality says that “if you turn to a psychologist, then you are crazy.” And this greatly interferes with psychology in our country. People don’t turn to psychologists for help, so there are few specialists (the profession simply doesn’t provide enough food), and people’s psychological mood is getting worse... Well, okay, that’s not what we’re talking about now. Number of sessions and duration of meetings I’ll say right away that years with one task lead to good ones They don’t go to psychologists, but if they do, it means one of the parties is more interested in the process than the result. The duration of one session should not be less than 1 hour, unless this is the first meeting, of course. In any case, it takes time to establish contact and a trusting relationship between the psychologist and the client. Contents of the sessions It doesn’t matter what the psychologist does, the main thing is the sustainable result and the scientific nature of the tools used by the psychologist. It is important that the psychologist does not give advice! This is the golden rule, if a psychologist tells you what to do, this is not psychological counseling. Laying out cards, etc. is not psychology. I'm not against these things, but this doesn't matter/
