Thousands of metaphors have already been invented to explain a person, his life and actions. Personally, I would compare a person to a huge archive. We store in our heads all the thoughts, feelings, actions, events and situations that happened to us, to our loved ones, and even complete strangers, about whom we have only heard or read. In this The archive is sometimes in complete order, sometimes in terrible chaos. Sometimes something gets lost and we can’t find the file we need, and sometimes one of them intrusively catches our eye, as if copying itself, of its own accord or higher understanding. Our childhood memories are stored on the farthest shelves. They are not always detailed, often fragmentary, and look like illustrations from fairy tales, funny and sad, instructive and scary. On the pages live good and evil wizards, various strange creatures, also of every degree of harmfulness and usefulness. Children's files, as a rule, are not so many in comparison with the others, childhood flies by very quickly, but they are among the most valuable. I often hear the philistine opinion - " Why bother poking around so much in the past, in your childhood? You can’t change the past anyway.” Frankly, I myself sometimes thought this way before, but now I know the exact answer. Due to the abundance of files added daily, we often forget about how our life began, under the influence of what forces our personality was formed, how we learned to react to the world around us, and how the scenarios of our behavior were written. Because of the seeming frivolity of those events, A huge reserve of knowledge, strength and energy for today is hidden from us. By turning over these yellowed pages again and again, we can find or restore the missing fragments of our history. They may contain important spells that evil wizards once cast on us, or we may find a recipe for a magic potion that can today heal our old wounds that haunt us and ache when the weather changes. And we may also stumble upon records about our incredible feats that we performed, no matter what, overcame enormous obstacles, defeated the largest and most terrible dragons, or insidious and cunning enemies. Remembering our achievements, how bravely and boldly we fought against obstacles and won, it becomes easier for us to cope with today's adversities. And how sometimes it's nice to briefly plunge into the joyful moments of our childhood, when the world was full of new discoveries, and the most daring desires, because most of today's obstacles and worries did not yet exist in him. Remember all these feelings, all the best and brightest, and try to transfer them into your adult life.© Psychologist Anna Kanteeva, 2021. All rights reserved.
