From the author: “The luckiest and happiest people are those who make others feel good about themselves!” We often forget about such a great opportunity to establish business and personal relationships as a compliment. Moreover, we don’t know how to make them. It never even occurs to us to do them to our business partners. However, a compliment has an amazing effect on business partnerships and successful businesses, not to mention personal relationships. We love it when people pay attention to us, when they speak to us, and speak well, about our strengths and achievements. If you want your interlocutor to remember you and distinguish you from the mass of business and personal contacts, then apply the law of indirect efforts and give him a compliment. This is one of the ways to win over a person and attract his attention. The law of indirect efforts tells us that it is easier to approach a person not directly, but indirectly. If you want to attract attention, there is a direct way to come up and tell about yourself how wonderful, amazing, smart, businesslike, talented you are, and so on and so forth. I think you already feel uncomfortable and stupid. Your interlocutor will be taken aback by such pressure and, of course, will remember you. You will make an impression, but not at all what you expected. An indirect way to make an impression is to compliment the person, simply admire him. The more you admire someone else, regardless of their achievements, the more impressed you will be yourself. But there is one small “but” here! Admire sincerely, the falsehood will be immediately recognized, and your compliment will have the opposite effect, with all the ensuing consequences. There is a lot of good in every person. Find what you really like about your interlocutor and express admiration for it. If you didn’t find anything today, then it’s better to refrain from compliments, especially from duty, general ones and about nothing. This is a safety precaution. Give a compliment for something that others scold and blame for. For example, if you are criticized for being slow, then you can pay attention to how carefully the work was done. And, if it gives you respect, then say so. Look at the disadvantage on the other side, the side of dignity. Say that you have seen a lot of this life, but you have never encountered anything like it, that you can’t do it that way. Just let it be true. Say that you have been observing your interlocutor for a long time and admire his skill, for example. This is pleasant for everyone. Everyone, growing up, goes through feelings of inferiority; we need praise, recognition and respect from others. No matter what heights we have achieved, we need support, a sense of importance and value. The key to a great relationship is defined by the formula: “I like you depending on how I feel about myself around you.” “The luckiest and happiest people are those , with whom others feel good in themselves!” Good luck to you and happy relationships!
