Individual Psychoanalytic Therapy During the course of treatment, a special relationship develops between the psychotherapist and the patient, which has no analogues in everyday life. An alliance is formed, the purpose of which is to jointly comprehend the unconscious sources of experiences and actions. Usually, it seems that if you remove the source of irritation - change jobs, get divorced, move to the sea, everything will somehow miraculously improve due to external changes. And then comes disappointment and a feeling of confusion and anger that there are even more problems. This is due to the fact that often we do not realize why we behave one way or another in a given situation, why when they say: <>, << thought is material >> in most cases it does not work, gloomy thoughts come from somewhere, which literally attack our mind and, accordingly, this not only affects our behavior - we again act in a pattern, but also affects our health. Our body, trying to help us process our psychological suffering, begins to hurt. And even if there is a partial understanding that the problem is internal, it is unknown how to achieve internal changes. Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that there is not yet a sufficient understanding that it is normal to seek help in moments of crisis. Sometimes a psychoanalyst is presented as a clairvoyant who will immediately see and heal everything. This approach creates the ground for devaluing one’s life experience, one’s individuality, because it is built on the basis of contradiction<< or>>,<>. If I can’t, then I need to find someone who will solve my problems, remove the damage, put me into hypnosis, give instructions, but at the same time it becomes offensive that I myself no longer mean anything? Am I not able to do this myself?, I’m not so smart, strong, creative?, and it turns out to be a vicious circle... The peculiarity of psychoanalytic therapy is that it is a safe way to reveal the deep essence of mental problems, which accordingly leads to the disclosure of internal resources that will allow gain access to new ways of interacting with yourself, with other people and with the world in general. The main thing to remember is that “mental changes take time, quick results can only come from revolutions (psychoses).” Irina Chirtsova - psychoanalytic therapist, member of the section of individual psychoanalytic psychotherapy for adults of the Society of Psychoanalytic Therapy - OPP (Moscow) For non-residents, consultation with the author of the article is possible via the Internet.
