Sometimes even going to the nearest store can cause panic, real fear. There are people around, they look, evaluate, mock, point with their fingers. In fact, no one cares about us, but such hysteria can happen over and over again. How to deal with social phobia? How to stop looking around? Why does this anxious feeling arise in the first place? For example, a person is alone for a long time, avoids all contacts (visual and tactile), and shies away from society. He has no desire or need to go out in public. Therefore, any outside communication can cause discomfort and hostility towards people. The opposite situations also happen. Too wide a circle of people, forced interaction, and constant meetings can develop social phobia. A person subconsciously tries to protect himself from society, so the brain resists. To get rid of unnecessary fears, begin to gradually adapt to the situation. Yes, it’s still difficult, but no one else will help. If there is a planned meeting, then work out your monologues in advance, outline the general concept of the upcoming communication. You may have to improvise, but the right words will already be selected. Don't be afraid to look your interlocutor in the eyes. And in general, not only to familiar people, but also to completely random passers-by. At work, say hello to your colleagues first, in a store, ask the salesperson with requests, and on the street, ask for directions. Even if you don’t really need answers, such communication will help you get together and get used to people. You yourself always know where and with whom you feel comfortable, and where it becomes downright scary. If possible, try to surround yourself with pleasant people. Feeling uneasy again? Focus on yourself, on your thoughts, on your feelings. Don’t imagine what people around you think about you. They don't think anything at all, or they'll forget about their thoughts within five minutes. Only you can and should control your fears and joys. Get used to it, then any social anxiety will leave you forever. Be happy! If you need psychological help and support for social adaptation, please contact us!
