One of my clients was embarrassed to express himself throughout his adult life, was afraid to speak in public, to look people in the eyes. It was difficult for him to insist on his opinion, and even to simply express it. How did he want to feel? Easy, free, without bothering with any nonsense. How long do you think it takes to become like this? Years of training? Three days! Or rather, two and a half. For three decades you have to live with the unbearable burden of communication, and in one weekend you begin to express yourself in a completely new way. And this is not one, unique person. Such a step seems incredible. At first sight. But everything is simpler than it might seem. We build constructs to describe what is happening in our heads, endowing ourselves and events with special significance and importance. This heaviness prevents you from opening up to your inner resources, from simply being and expressing yourself. The crumbs of ourselves, in this tension of evaluating ourselves and what is happening (let’s add a negative expectation here), are presented to others. In this case, how can we ultimately be satisfied if we have limited ourselves to the point of impossibility? For me, too, three days of training were enough to rethink myself and my capabilities, to get changes right away. Of course, working out the details takes time. You can hone the nuances ad infinitum. But it’s a fantastic feeling when you realize that you’ve been upset and worried all your life, but you were one step away from what you wanted. Open your eyes and really want to see the possibilities for change. What is important is not the new you, no. Your real self. This transition can be compared to black and white. Zero and one. Emptiness and presence. Yes, a jerk of this quality requires special components. The main thing is awareness of readiness for change. When you stop clinging to the assessment of the upcoming steps, their complexity, the possibility of starting tomorrow. And then, having received the necessary direction to action, you cannot be stopped! You are filled with the joy of finding yourself. You feel that you can do it now and there are new opportunities tomorrow. Not everyone's path to self-discovery is quick. But in the end, only the result matters.
