From the author: The article discusses the effectiveness of various types of hypnotic influence “Instilling positive emotional states in a hypnotic trance and their psychotherapeutic effectiveness,” was the topic of my thesis upon graduation Faculty of Psychology. At that time I had accumulated some experience in hypnosis techniques. At that time, I worked in the psychotherapy department at a medical institute, where mainly psychosomatic patients were treated. Therapeutic hypnosis was indispensable as a universal method of psychological support for this group of clients. This is not surprising, because if we put mental tossing on the scales on the one hand, and real physiological suffering on the other, the latter will definitely outweigh. How many times have I heard phrases like: “Doctor, I don’t have psychological problems, I only have bronchial asthma.” Very often, a supportive course of hypnotherapy was enough for a person to regain a sense of inner harmony for quite a long period of time. For my research, I used three types of texts. One is a classic “Soviet” text that “your lungs are the lightest in the world, your intestines work like a clock, and your heart is a fiery engine.” In the second, after the introduction, as the main suggestion, I quickly, quickly, so that the meaning was not caught, read in Old Church Slavonic a cycle of morning prayers from the Monastic Cell Rule. In the third type of texts, with the help of a former novice of the Pskov-Pechersk Monastery, I translated Orthodox symbols into the language of modern metaphors. This was not a trivial task. The result was something like a modern transformational text: “Looking into your soul, where, as in a drop of dew, it will be reflected... etc.” I explored the dynamics of anxiety, depression, attitudes toward health, and attitudes toward oneself. To study the last factor, a test was proposed that measured the difference between the assessment “I am real” and “I am ideal.” It is clear that the smaller this delta, the better a person feels about himself and is more psychologically stable. All tests were asked to be completed twice: before the start and after the end of the course. The results of the study were surprising. Firstly, it turned out that any hypnosis has a positive effect in terms of reducing depression and anxiety. The third, transformational text, turned out to be the least productive. Because its effectiveness was exhausted on the two parameters indicated above. The result of the “Soviet” text was unexpected. After listening to it, the level of hypochondriacal fixation in clients decreased, i.e. patients began to feel more relaxed about their health problems. A deep psychotherapeutic effect was caused only by the Orthodox text, while listening to it, clients, at best, caught only individual words. After going through this cycle, people's attitude towards themselves changed. The difference between the assessment “I am real” and “I am ideal” decreased noticeably. Patients' self-esteem increased, they became more loyal to themselves and, consequently, to the world around them.
